Applying and Stacking Spell Power Status Effects
One effect per attribute
The mod ships a status effect for each attribute it adds, with IDs matching the attribute they modify. So there is an effect tied to each school's spell power as well as to critical chance, critical damage, and haste. Applying the effect is how you buff a player temporarily without editing their attributes permanently.
Give an effect with a command
`
/effect give @s spell_power:fire 30 1
`
Replace spell_power:fire with the effect ID you want, 30 with duration in seconds, and 1 with the amplifier (0 is level I, 1 is level II, and so on). The effect then feeds into the same attribute the API reads, so spells cast while it is active scale up.
Stacking and timing
Higher amplifiers mean stronger buffs, and reapplying refreshes the timer. Because the effect maps to the attribute, it combines with gear and command modifiers rather than replacing them. Use short, strong bursts for boss fights and long, weak versions for passive play. To clear a buff early, run /effect clear @s spell_power:fire. If a spell ignores the buff, confirm the effect ID matches the school the spell actually uses.
