Using Speed Building to Climb Towers with Ladders

The Climbing Problem

Ladders are awkward to place upward because you have to jump, place, jump, place, and repeat. Speed Building Mod removes that loop by extending the ladder away from you in the direction you aim, so a vertical climb becomes a single continuous action instead of a tedious repetition.

Building a Ladder Column

1. Build or find the wall you want to attach the ladder to.

2. Stand at the base and face the wall.

3. Select ladders in your hotbar.

4. Place the first ladder against the wall. The mod extends the ladder upward and away from you.

5. Keep your aim steady on the wall so the column stays aligned.

6. Move upward as the ladder builds, or let it extend ahead of you.

Keeping It Clean

  • Make sure the wall surface is flat and consistent. Bumps or gaps can interrupt the extension.
  • Watch your inventory; a tall ladder uses many blocks.
  • If the ladder veers off, stop, reposition, and re-aim before continuing.
  • This is ideal for mine shafts, watchtowers, and any vertical access point you build often.
