Fixing Common Speed Building Problems (Stops, Gaps, Wrong Direction)
When the Line Stops Early
The most common issue is the extension halting before you expect. This almost always means something is blocking the path. Check for:
- A solid block, fence, or slab in the way.
- A gap or drop where the next block cannot attach.
- A change in surface that the ladder or rail cannot follow.
Clear the obstruction or reposition yourself, then place again to resume.
When It Builds the Wrong Way
The mod extends in the direction you are facing when you place the block. If the line goes the wrong way, you were aimed incorrectly. Turn to face the intended direction, then place the first block again. Keep your crosshair pointed along the route for the whole extension.
When You Run Out of Blocks
Speed Building places many blocks in a short time, so inventory drains fast. Carry more ladders or rails than you think you need, and keep a stack in reserve. If placement stops and the path is clear, check your inventory count first.
General Habits
- Plan straight, clear routes for best results.
- Re-aim at corners instead of forcing one long run.
- Use the placement sounds as feedback that the mod is still working.
