Building Long Rail Lines Without Walking the Whole Track

Why This Matters for Rails

Rails are one of the most tedious blocks to place because a useful track is long. Walking the entire route just to lay rails eats time you could spend mining or building. Speed Building Mod lets you stand at one end and let the rails extend away from you along the direction you are facing.

Laying a Track

1. Clear or plan the route first so the rail line has a flat, unobstructed path.

2. Stand at the starting point and face down the route.

3. Select rails in your hotbar.

4. Place the first rail. The mod begins extending the line away from you.

5. Adjust your facing as the track curves or changes direction so the extension follows your aim.

6. Listen for the placement sounds to confirm rails are being set.

Practical Notes

  • Keep enough rails in your inventory. The mod places many blocks quickly, so you can run out faster than expected.
  • If the line stops, check for a block, gap, or drop in the path ahead.
  • For sloped or diagonal routes, reposition yourself and re-aim rather than trying to force one long straight run.
  • Combine this with a minecart for fast travel once the track is complete.
