Freezing a Mob

To turn any mob into a permanent, immobile statue, use the freeze nametag effect. This completely disables the mob's AI, making it unable to move, attack, or interact with its environment.

Steps

1. Obtain a nametag (craft or find in loot)

2. Use an anvil to rename the nametag to freeze (case-sensitive)

3. Apply the renamed nametag to your chosen mob by right-clicking it

4. The mob will immediately stop moving and become unresponsive

Notes

Frozen mobs cannot be damaged by normal means—they're completely locked in place. If you need to unfreeze a mob later, rename another nametag to unfreeze and apply it to the same mob. This is useful for creating decorative displays, building frozen scenes, or temporarily disabling dangerous mobs without killing them. The frozen state persists even if you leave and return to the area.
