Understand What Spawn Animations Compats Does

Core Purpose

Spawn Animations Compats extends the Spawn Animations mod by adding support for mobs from other mods. Without it, only vanilla mobs would animate on spawn. With Compats installed, creatures from 40+ compatible mods will also display custom spawn animations.

How Compatibility Works

The mod patches mob entities to recognize and play spawn animations. This happens automatically—you don't configure individual mobs. When a compatible mob spawns (from a spawner, natural spawning, or commands), the animation plays before the mob becomes fully interactive.

Supported Mods

The Compats mod covers popular creature mods and content packs. Check the official documentation for the complete list of 40+ supported mods. Support is regularly updated as new mods gain popularity.

What It Doesn't Do

Compats only handles spawn animations—it doesn't change mob behavior, drops, or stats. It also won't add animations to mods outside its compatibility list. For unsupported mods, mobs will spawn normally without animation sequences.
