Troubleshoot Missing Spawn Animations on Custom Mobs

Identify the Problem

Spawn animations may not appear if the mob's mod isn't supported by the Compats version you're using, or if there's a mod conflict. Start by checking whether the animation works for vanilla mobs or mobs from well-known supported mods.

Check Mod Compatibility

Review the Spawn Animations Compats documentation to confirm your mod is in the supported list. The mod covers 40+ popular mods, but newer or obscure mods may not be included. If your mod isn't listed, animations won't work for it.

Remove Conflicting Mods

Other animation or spawn-related mods can interfere. Temporarily disable any mods that modify entity spawning or animations, then test again. This helps isolate whether the issue is with Compats or another mod.

Verify Installation

Ensure both the base Spawn Animations mod and Compats are properly installed in your mods folder. A missing or corrupted file will prevent animations from loading. Reinstalling both mods cleanly often resolves issues.
