Enable Spawn Animations for Modded Mobs

Prerequisites

Ensure you have both the Spawn Animations base mod and Spawn Animations Compats installed. The Compats mod acts as a bridge, allowing custom mobs from other mods to use spawn animations instead of appearing instantly.

How It Works

Once installed, the Compats mod automatically patches compatible mobs. When a modded creature spawns in your world, it will now play an animation sequence rather than appearing immediately. No configuration is needed for most mobs—compatibility is handled automatically.

Checking Compatibility

If a mob from an installed mod doesn't animate on spawn, it may not be in the 40+ supported mods list. Check your mod list against the mod's compatibility documentation. Some mobs may require specific conditions to spawn (like spawners or commands) to display animations properly.

Troubleshooting

If animations aren't working:

  • Verify both mods are in your mods folder
  • Ensure no conflicting animation mods are installed
  • Try spawning mobs in a fresh world to rule out world-specific issues
