Monitor Server TPS and Performance in Real-Time

Check Current TPS and CPU Usage

Use /spark tps to see your server's current performance at a glance. This command displays:

  • Ticks per second (TPS): Should be 20.0 on a healthy server. Below 20 means lag.
  • CPU usage: Percentage of server CPU in use
  • Memory usage: Current heap memory consumption

Track Tick Spikes Over Time

For ongoing monitoring, run /spark tickmonitoring to watch for sudden jumps in tick duration. This helps you catch lag spikes as they happen and correlate them with in-game events (e.g., a player loading a new area, a redstone machine activating).

Generate a Full Health Report

For a comprehensive snapshot, use /spark healthreport. This produces a detailed report including:

  • Min, max, and average tick times
  • Disk space available
  • Garbage collection activity
  • Memory breakdown by class

Run this periodically (e.g., weekly) to track trends and spot degradation over time.
