Souls RPG Font Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I actually turn on the gothic font after installing the pack?
Open Options, then Resource Packs, and move the Souls RPG Font pack from the left column to the right column. If it sits below another pack that also changes fonts, that other pack wins, so drag Souls RPG Font to the top of the selected list.
Why does the font look the same as vanilla after I enabled it?
Another selected resource pack is overriding the font files, which is the most common cause. Put Souls RPG Font above every other pack in the selected list, or temporarily disable the others to confirm it is the one changing the text.
Does this pack change anything besides the font?
No, it is a font-only resource pack, so it does not touch blocks, items, mobs, or sounds. That is why it can sit on top of a full texture pack without breaking anything else.
Can I use this with a full texture pack like a medieval or RPG-themed pack?
Yes, and it is designed to layer that way. Keep the full texture pack lower in the selected list and Souls RPG Font above it so the gothic lettering takes priority over that pack's font.
The gothic letters are hard to read in chat and on signs — what can I do?
Turn off any forced font or Unicode option in your language settings and raise your GUI scale so the glyphs render larger. If a specific pack is also restyling text, reorder the list so only one font pack is active at a time.
Will this font work on a server, or is it singleplayer only?
It works anywhere, because resource packs are client-side and the server does not need it installed. Other players will only see the gothic font if they have the pack enabled on their own client.
Does the pack affect performance or FPS?
Font packs are essentially just replacement texture and glyph files, so the performance impact is negligible compared to shaders or large texture packs. If you notice stutter, it is almost always coming from another pack or mod, not the font.
Some characters show up as boxes or missing glyphs — how do I fix that?
This usually means the pack does not cover every character your language or a mod is using, such as special symbols or non-Latin text. Switch your game language to one the font supports, or keep a fallback font pack selected underneath it.
Can I use the gothic font for screenshots and roleplay without it affecting normal play?
Yes, just toggle the pack on when you want the look and off when you want vanilla text, since enabling and disabling is instant in the Resource Packs menu. Many players keep it on only for screenshot sessions or roleplay servers.
Does the font show up in the main menu and loading screens, or only in-game?
It applies to all text the game renders, including menus, the pause screen, chat, and item tooltips, as long as the pack is enabled. If the menu still looks vanilla, the pack is either disabled or being overridden by another font pack.
