What Soul Fire'd Changes

Soul Fire'd makes Soul Fire behave differently from regular fire instead of being a cosmetic variant. In vanilla, burning in Soul Fire is identical to burning in normal fire; this mod gives it its own properties.

When an entity burns with Soul Fire, it takes damage over time and visibly burns with a blue flame. The effect can also spread: zombies burning from Soul Fire can pass it on to their targets, and arrows that pass through Soul Fire can carry the effect to whatever they hit.

The mod also adds Soul Fire Aspect and Soul Flame, enchantments that mirror Fire Aspect and Flame but apply Soul Fire instead, dealing extra damage through the unique Soul Fire effect.

For mod developers, Soul Fire'd provides an API for creating custom fire types with configurable behavior, so new fire variants can be built on the same system rather than hardcoded.

Using It In Practice

Because the effect spreads through zombies and arrows, Soul Fire can move through a fight on its own once it starts. Enchanting weapons or bows with the Soul Fire variants lets you apply it directly.
