Sort Inventory on a Multiplayer Server

Understand Server-Side Sorting

Sort It Out Mod works on multiplayer servers. Depending on installation type, sorting behavior differs:

  • Server-only installation: All players on the server can sort, and the mod enforces consistent sorting rules
  • Client + Server installation: Sorting works smoothly with server validation
  • Client-only: Works if the server allows it, though the server won't enforce sorting rules

Use Sorting in Multiplayer

1. Open your inventory as normal

2. Trigger sorting using your configured method (button, keybind, or double-click)

3. Your inventory sorts according to the server's sort rules

4. Changes sync to the server immediately

Check Server Compatibility

If sorting doesn't work, ask your server admin whether Sort It Out Mod is installed server-side. Some servers disable it for gameplay reasons. If it's installed, use /sortitout preferences to verify your sorting method is enabled.
