Customize lighting for magical and decorative blocks

Understand block lighting in this shader

Solas World Evils applies smooth glow effects to light-emitting blocks like torches, lanterns, and magical light sources. This creates atmospheric lighting without harsh shadows.

Locate lighting customization options

Open the shader settings menu (Right Shift by default) and search for lighting, glow, or emissive block options. These settings control how brightly light sources illuminate their surroundings.

Adjust glow intensity

Increase glow values to make torches and lanterns cast light further and brighter. Decrease them if the glow feels overwhelming or washes out nearby blocks. The shader maintains crisp block visibility, so even with strong glow, details remain clear.

Test with different light sources

Place various light blocks—torches, lanterns, magical blocks from World Evils content—and observe how they render. This helps you find settings that match your aesthetic preference.

Fine-tune for your builds

If you're building with decorative lighting, adjust settings until the atmosphere matches your vision. You can always return to settings and tweak further.
