Adjust shader brightness and contrast for better visibility
Access shader settings
Press the shader settings key (default: Right Shift) while in-game to open the Solas World Evils configuration menu. This menu lets you fine-tune how the shader renders your world.
Modify brightness controls
Look for brightness or exposure sliders in the settings panel. Increase these values if caves feel too dark or if you're struggling to see blocks underground. Decrease them if the daytime feels washed out or overexposed.
Adjust contrast
Contrast settings help blocks stand out from their surroundings. Higher contrast makes shadows deeper and highlights brighter, which can improve visibility of terrain features and block edges.
Test your changes
Apply settings and move to different locations—caves, surface at noon, and underwater areas—to confirm visibility is comfortable. The shader is designed to keep blocks crisp at all times, but personal preference varies. You can always return to settings and readjust.
Save your preferences
Once satisfied, your settings should save automatically. If you switch shaders or reinstall, you may need to reconfigure.
