Adjust Water Appearance and Reflections

Access Shader Settings

Open the Iris shader options menu while in-game by pressing the key bound to shader settings (default varies by setup). Navigate to Solar Shaders options to find water-specific controls.

Customize Water Effects

Look for settings related to water reflections, wave intensity, and transparency. Solar Shaders provides tuned presets that balance realistic water visuals with performance, but you can fine-tune:

  • Reflection quality: Adjust how sharply the sky and terrain reflect in water surfaces
  • Wave simulation: Control the softness and movement of water waves
  • Transparency levels: Modify how clearly you can see through water to the bottom

Apply and Test

After adjusting settings, return to your world and visit a lake or ocean to preview changes in real-time. Water appearance varies based on time of day and sky conditions, so test during both day and night. If performance drops, reduce reflection quality or wave detail. The mod is designed to maintain high FPS even with enhanced water, so you should see minimal impact on frame rate.
