Applying the Shadow Effect to Farmland, Slabs and Stairs Instead of Just Paths
Why you would widen the scope
By default the mod targets path blocks, which is where the vanilla effect was most noticeable. But the same shading logic applies to any block that is not a full cube, and farmland, slabs and stairs all benefit from the same treatment. Widening the scope makes farm plots, terraced builds and stair-heavy architecture read with the same depth as your roads.
Changing which blocks are affected
1. Open the mod config and locate the block scope option. It offers a path-only mode and a broader mode that covers other non-full blocks.
2. Switch to the broader mode and save. No restart is normally needed, but if nothing changes after a few seconds, reload the world.
3. Walk a farm field. Farmland should now show shading along its lowered edge where it meets full dirt or grass.
4. Check a staircase from the side and from above. Stairs are the hardest case because each step has multiple faces, so look for shading that follows the step profile rather than a flat tint across the whole block.
5. Check slabs both top and bottom. Bottom slabs sit flush with the ground and will show very little, which is expected.
If a particular block type looks wrong, narrow the scope back rather than abandoning the feature — the broad mode is a trade-off, not a strict upgrade.
