How to Open and Switch Iris Shader Packs from the Options Screen

If you use Iris for shaders alongside Sodium, this mod puts a shader pack button directly on the options screen, so you don't have to leave your video settings to change shaders.

Accessing Shader Controls

1. Open the Sodium options screen.

2. Look for the Iris shader pack button — it's placed on this screen specifically to save you a trip through separate menus.

3. Click it to open the shader pack selection interface.

4. Choose the pack you want from the list, then confirm/apply.

Switching Packs Quickly

  • Because the button lives on the options screen, you can bounce between tweaking Sodium settings and swapping shader packs in one place — handy when you're testing which combination of settings and packs gives you acceptable performance.
  • If you change a shader pack and the game stutters, come back to the options screen and lower demanding Sodium settings (use the search bar and SHIFT-scroll to adjust them precisely), then re-test.
  • If the shader button doesn't appear, Iris isn't installed or loaded — this button is provided through the integration between the two mods, not by Sodium alone.

Combining With Other Features

Treat the shader button as part of your tuning loop: pick a pack, adjust Sodium sliders, check performance, repeat. The search bar and scrollable tabs make it fast to find the specific setting that's costing you frames while a shader pack is active.
