Place Snow Beneath Tree Canopies
Locate Trees in Snowy Forests
Travel to a snowy forest biome or any cold area with dense tree coverage. The data pack modifies how snow accumulates under tree leaves, preventing bare dirt patches that normally appear beneath thick foliage.
Observe Snow Under Leaves
Walk beneath tall trees and look at the ground layer. Instead of exposed dirt or grass, you'll see snow layers placed directly under the canopy. This creates a cleaner, more cohesive winter appearance where the entire forest floor is covered uniformly.
Combine With Other Features
The snow-under-trees feature works alongside white leaves and smooth slopes. Stand in a snowy forest during or after snowfall to see all three effects together: white leaves above, smooth snow on the ground, and layered snow beneath the canopy. The mod prioritizes natural-looking coverage, so denser forests show the most dramatic improvement.
