How to Change the Freeze Duration in the Config

Finding the Config

This mod is configurable, and the main setting is the freeze duration in milliseconds. The config file is generated in your Minecraft config folder after the mod runs once.

1. Close Minecraft (or at least leave the world) so the config is not overwritten.

2. Open your Minecraft instance folder.

3. Navigate to the config folder.

4. Open the config file for Snowballs Freeze Mobs Mod with a text editor.

5. Find the freezeTimeMs entry.

6. Change the value to the number of milliseconds you want.

7. Save the file and restart the game.

Understanding the Value

freezeTimeMs is measured in milliseconds. The default is 5000 (five seconds). The minimum is 0 (which effectively disables freezing) and the maximum is 3600000 (one hour). To convert seconds to milliseconds, multiply by 1000 — for example, 10 seconds is 10000.

Notes

  • Setting it to 0 makes snowball hits do nothing special.
  • Very high values can make mobs stay frozen for a long time, which may affect balance.
  • If the config does not appear, launch the game once with the mod installed so it can generate the file.
