Optimizing HUD Readability During Gameplay

Why HUD Clarity Matters

SMP Basics refines the heads-up display—including hotbars, health indicators, and status icons—to be clearer and more readable during intense gameplay. Better HUD visibility helps you track resources and health at a glance.

Steps to Maximize HUD Clarity

1. Verify the pack is active – Open Resource Packs in Settings and confirm SMP Basics is enabled and positioned above any conflicting packs.

2. Adjust GUI Scale – Go to Video Settings and experiment with GUI Scale. Smaller scales show more detail; larger scales improve readability from distance.

3. Test in different environments – Check the HUD in caves (low light), bright daylight, and underwater to ensure readability across conditions.

4. Check your display settings – If text still feels blurry, verify your monitor's brightness and contrast are properly calibrated.

5. Disable conflicting packs – If you use multiple resource packs, disable others temporarily to isolate whether SMP Basics is rendering correctly.

The pack's HUD improvements are most effective when it's the only active resource pack. Layering multiple packs can cause texture conflicts and reduce clarity.
