Adjusting Texture Sharpness and Clarity
Understanding the Pack's Visual Style
SMP Basics Resource Pack refines vanilla textures to appear crisper without changing the fundamental Minecraft aesthetic. The pack achieves this through subtle contrast adjustments and cleaner pixel work on block and item textures.
Customizing Your Experience
If you find the textures too sharp or want to dial in the clarity further:
1. Check your video settings – Ensure Mipmap Levels are set to your preference. Lower mipmap levels preserve sharper detail at distance; higher levels smooth textures.
2. Adjust GUI Scale – If HUD elements feel too crisp or hard to read, modify GUI Scale in Video Settings to find a comfortable balance.
3. Test in different lighting – The pack's improvements are most noticeable in well-lit areas. Visit caves, night scenes, and bright daylight to see how textures respond.
4. Compare side-by-side – Temporarily disable the pack to see the difference, then re-enable it to confirm the visual improvements match your expectations.
The pack is designed to work with vanilla lighting, so no additional shader or lighting mod is required to see its intended effect. If textures still feel off, verify you're using the correct resource pack version for your Minecraft version.
