What Changes with Crossbows

The crossbow loading sequence now uses the same doubled-frame system as bows. Instead of three jerky stages, you'll see six smooth steps as the weapon loads a bolt into position.

Adapting Your Crossbow Technique

1. Observe the loading cycle — Hold down the attack button and watch the crossbow mechanism move through all six frames. The bolt visibly seats into the firing position.

2. Watch until the animation completes fully before moving or aiming.

3. Recognize readiness — The smooth progression makes it obvious when the crossbow is ready to fire. You won't accidentally shoot before it's loaded.

4. Combine with quick-fire tactics — Once loaded, you can fire instantly without re-drawing. Use this to your advantage in combat by pre-loading before engaging enemies.

Combat Application

In PvP or dangerous mob situations, load your crossbow during downtime, then fire rapidly without waiting for animation delays between shots.
