Use Your Computer While Minecraft Loads

Multitasking During Startup

By default, Minecraft monopolizes your CPU during the loading screen, making it nearly impossible to use other applications smoothly. Smooth Boot Reloaded redistributes CPU load so background tasks get adequate resources.

Steps to Enable Smooth Multitasking

1. Install and launch Minecraft with the mod active

2. Start loading a world or the title screen

3. While the game loads, open another application—a web browser, video player, or document editor

4. You'll notice significantly reduced lag compared to vanilla Minecraft

5. The mod automatically manages thread priority, so no manual configuration is required for basic use

Customizing Task Priority

If you want even more control:

1. Open the mod's configuration file

2. Look for the priority level setting

3. Lower priority values give more resources to non-game processes

4. Save and restart Minecraft

This is especially useful on computers with fewer than 8 CPU threads, where resource contention is more severe.
