Reduce Mouse Stutter During Game Startup
Why Mouse Stutter Happens
When Minecraft loads, it uses all available CPU threads to initialize the game world, textures, and systems. This causes your operating system to struggle allocating resources to other programs, including your mouse driver, resulting in visible lag and stuttering.
How to Fix It
Smooth Boot Reloaded automatically throttles the number of threads the game uses during startup. This frees up CPU resources for your mouse driver and other system processes.
To enable this:
1. Launch Minecraft with the mod installed
2. The mod works automatically—no configuration needed for basic stutter reduction
3. If you want to fine-tune behavior, access the mod's configuration file in your .minecraft/config folder
4. Adjust the thread limit setting to a lower value if stutter persists (typically setting it to half your CPU's thread count helps)
5. Restart the game to apply changes
Testing the Fix
Load the game and try moving your mouse around the title screen. You should notice smoother cursor movement compared to vanilla Minecraft. The improvement is most noticeable on older computers or systems with limited CPU cores.
