Configure Thread Count for Your CPU
Understanding Thread Allocation
Smooth Boot Reloaded lets you manually set how many CPU threads Minecraft uses during startup. By default, it intelligently reduces thread usage, but you can customize this for your specific hardware.
How to Adjust Thread Count
1. Locate your Minecraft configuration folder (.minecraft/config)
2. Find the Smooth Boot Reloaded configuration file
3. Open it with a text editor
4. Look for the thread count or thread limit setting
5. Set it to a value appropriate for your CPU:
- For CPUs with 4 threads: try 2
- For CPUs with 8 threads: try 4
- For CPUs with 16+ threads: try 8
6. Save the file and restart Minecraft
Finding Your Optimal Setting
Start with a conservative value (lower number = fewer threads used). Test by loading a world and checking if your mouse is smooth and other applications remain responsive. If performance is good, you can gradually increase the thread count until you notice stuttering, then back off slightly. The goal is balancing load time with system responsiveness.
