Using Smelting Touch for Ore Mining

With Smelting Touch applied to a pickaxe, mining ore blocks automatically converts them to ingots without requiring a furnace step.

How It Works

When you mine an ore block with a Smelting Touch pickaxe:

1. The ore block breaks as normal

2. Instead of dropping raw ore, the smelted ingot is placed directly in your inventory

3. No fuel or furnace time is consumed

4. Experience orbs still drop as if you had smelted the ore manually

This applies to all standard ores — iron, gold, copper, and others. The enchantment effectively doubles your mining efficiency by removing the furnace step from your workflow.

Efficiency Tip

Combine this with Fortune or Efficiency enchantments on the same tool for even better results. Fortune increases the number of ingots dropped per ore block, while Efficiency speeds up mining.
