Disable the Crosshair for Specific Activities
When You Might Want No Crosshair
Some players prefer removing the crosshair during building, exploration, or creative mode to maximize screen visibility, then re-enabling it for combat.
Temporarily Disabling the Crosshair
To hide the crosshair without uninstalling the resource pack:
1. Locate the crosshair texture file in assets/minecraft/textures/gui/
2. Rename it with a .disabled or .bak extension
3. Reload the resource pack—Minecraft will fall back to no crosshair
4. To restore it, rename the file back to its original name
Using Multiple Resource Packs
Create a second copy of the resource pack folder without the crosshair texture. Switch between your crosshair and no-crosshair versions in the resource pack menu as needed.
Permanent Removal
If you want to permanently remove the crosshair, delete the texture file entirely from the resource pack folder. You can always restore it later by re-downloading the original pack or recovering from a backup.
