Set Up Your First Farm

Choosing Your Farm Location

Find a flat area near the house with good access to water. The bamboo jungle provides natural barriers, so you can farm safely close to your base. Clear a space by removing grass and top soil to expose dirt blocks.

Planting and Growing Crops

Open the chests inside the house to find seeds—wheat, beetroot, or carrots are common starter crops. Collect water using a bucket from the nearby area or dig down to find a water source. Create rows of farmland by using a hoe on dirt blocks adjacent to water.

Plant your seeds in the tilled soil. Crops grow faster when hydrated by water within a few blocks. Space rows at least one block apart so you can walk between them and harvest easily.

Maintaining Your Farm

Return daily to harvest mature crops and replant seeds. As your farm grows, consider expanding into multiple sections for different crop types. The bamboo around your base provides natural fencing, but you may want to build a fence to keep mobs and animals out. Once established, your farm will provide a steady food supply for exploration and building projects.
