Enable SMAA Filtering and Adjust Quality Settings
Accessing Shader Settings
SMAA Iris Shaders integrates with Iris, so you'll configure it through your shader options menu. Press Shift + O in-game (or check your key binds) to open the Iris shader screen.
Enabling and Tuning SMAA
Look for the SMAA or anti-aliasing section in the shader options. You'll find toggles to:
- Enable SMAA filtering – Turn this on to activate edge smoothing
- Adjust filter intensity – Some versions let you choose between subtle and aggressive smoothing
- Select SMAA preset – Common options include 1x (default, fastest) or higher quality modes if available
Start with the default 1x setting. This provides noticeable jagged-line reduction without performance cost. If your system handles it well, experiment with higher presets for smoother results.
Saving Your Changes
Changes apply immediately. Close the shader menu and your new settings persist until you change them again. If performance drops, lower the SMAA intensity or disable it temporarily to find your balance.
