Enable Server Freezing to Reduce Resource Usage

Activate Slumber Mode

Slumber Mod freezes your server when all players log off, dramatically reducing CPU and memory consumption during idle periods. This is especially useful for small community servers or test environments.

Steps

1. Open your server console or in-game chat (if you have operator permissions)

2. Type /slumber true to enable the freezing feature

3. Confirm the mod is active by typing /slumber — you should see a message indicating the mod is enabled

What Happens When Frozen

Once all players disconnect, the server enters a frozen state:

  • No game ticks occur
  • Mobs stop moving
  • Redstone circuits pause
  • Crops and furnaces halt processing
  • The server uses minimal resources

When the first player reconnects, the server automatically resumes normal operation and ticks resume immediately. No manual restart is needed.

Disable if Needed

If you need to keep the server running constantly (for example, to maintain active redstone contraptions or mob farms while nobody is online), use /slumber false to disable freezing.
