Adjust Shadow Intensity and Quality
Access Shader Settings
Open your pause menu and navigate to Options → Video Settings → Shaders. Select Slight Shaders from the list to open its configuration panel.
Modify Shadow Parameters
Look for shadow-related sliders, typically labeled as shadow distance, shadow quality, or shadow softness. Increasing shadow distance makes shadows visible from farther away, while quality settings control how detailed and sharp shadows appear. Higher quality settings demand more GPU power.
Balance Performance and Visuals
If you experience frame rate drops, reduce shadow distance or quality first—these have the biggest performance impact. Test changes by moving to an area with varied terrain (hills, trees, buildings) where shadows are most visible. Reapply settings and observe the difference in real-time.
Save Your Preferences
Once satisfied, your changes persist automatically. If you want to reset to defaults, most shader packs include a "Reset" button in their settings menu.
