Understand how furnace smelting works during sleep
Furnaces tick during acceleration
When you sleep and time accelerates, furnaces continue smelting at the increased tick rate. This means items cook much faster than during normal gameplay, allowing you to process large quantities of materials efficiently.
Setting up smelting operations
Place furnaces near your bed or sleeping area. Load them with raw materials and fuel before going to sleep. The accelerated world ticks will process the items automatically while you rest.
Maximizing furnace efficiency
Use multiple furnaces simultaneously to smelt different materials. In multiplayer, sleeping with more players increases the tick rate, so furnaces work even faster. Coordinate sleep sessions when you have large smelting projects.
Fuel consumption
Furnaces consume fuel at the accelerated rate too. Ensure you have enough fuel loaded before sleeping, or your smelting will stop partway through. Calculate fuel needs based on how long you plan to sleep.
Combining with other tasks
While furnaces smelt, crops grow and other world processes advance. Use sleep cycles strategically to accomplish multiple resource-gathering tasks at once, making your gameplay more efficient.
