Place Torches and Lanterns Flush on Slab Floors

Setting Up Your Slab Surface

Start by placing a slab where you want your torch or lantern. Make sure the slab is positioned at the height you want your light source to sit. The slab will serve as the base surface.

Placing the Light Source

Look directly at the top surface of the slab and place your torch or lantern. Instead of floating above the slab like in vanilla Minecraft, the light source will now sit flush against the slab's upper face. Your crosshair will snap to show you exactly where the item will land.

Building Around Your Lights

Once placed, you can stack additional blocks on top of the lowered torch or lantern to create unique lighting arrangements. This is especially useful for:

  • Creating recessed lighting in ceiling slabs
  • Building decorative light fixtures that don't hover awkwardly
  • Combining multiple light sources in tight spaces

The mod remembers the exact position of your placed torch, so it won't shift or float away even if you remove adjacent blocks. This makes complex lighting designs much easier to construct and maintain.
