Decorate and Customize a Building Interior
Planning Your Design
Before placing blocks, think about the purpose and style of each room. Sketch a rough layout: where will furniture go, what colors or materials fit the modern aesthetic, and how will you use the vertical space? Consider the building's existing architecture and work with it rather than against it. Modern city interiors often use concrete, wood, glass, and metal-inspired blocks.
Adding Furniture and Details
Use stairs, slabs, and decorative blocks to create furniture-like structures: beds, tables, counters, and shelves. Place item frames on walls to display decorative objects. Add lighting with lamps or glowstone to create ambiance. Use signs, banners, and paintings to personalize walls. Layer different materials to add visual interest—combine smooth and textured blocks for depth.
Final Touches
Step back and evaluate the space. Does it feel cohesive? Are there empty corners that need attention? Add plants, rugs (using carpet), or accent walls to break up large flat surfaces. If decorating a shop or office, use labeled chests and organized displays. Test the space by walking through it—make sure pathways are clear and the room feels functional and inviting for you and your friends.
