Optimize Cave Lighting to Spot Mobs Easily
Understanding Cave Lighting in Skylumine
Skylumine Shaders brightens dark caves automatically, making hostile mobs visible without needing torches everywhere. However, you can enhance this further.
Increase Ambient Light
In the shader settings, look for Ambient Light or Cave Brightness options. Raising this value illuminates shadowy areas more, making creepers and spiders stand out clearly against stone and ore.
Use Strategic Torch Placement
While caves are brighter by default, placing torches at intersections and near valuable ore deposits creates contrast that makes mobs even easier to spot. The shader's improved lighting makes torch glow more visible.
Adjust Contrast Settings
If caves still feel murky, increase Contrast slightly in the shader menu. This makes the difference between lit and dark areas sharper, helping your eyes pick out moving mobs faster.
Test in Different Cave Types
Visit deep caves, lush caves, and dripstone caverns to see how the lighting performs. Adjust settings based on which cave types you explore most, since lighting varies by biome.
