Cross the Gap to the Sand Island

Planning Your Bridge

The sand island sits exactly 100 blocks away from your starting dirt island. Before attempting the crossing, gather enough wood from your oak tree to craft blocks for a bridge or platform. You'll need far more blocks than you might initially think—consider collecting all available wood first.

Building Your Crossing

1. Stand at the edge of your starting island and look toward the distant sand island

2. Begin placing wooden blocks in a line toward it, or build a staircase pattern for safety

3. Alternatively, craft a water bucket (if you have one from the starter chest) and use water to slow your fall if you attempt to jump the gap

4. Place blocks carefully—falling into the void means losing all your items

5. Once you reach the sand island, you'll find a chest on top of the pyramid structure

What You'll Find

The secret chest contains a water bucket and carrots, giving you access to renewable food and water for future building projects. Take these items back to your base or use them to establish a second outpost on the sand island.
