Add Clouds and Weather Effects to Your Sky
Layer Multiple Render Passes
The template structure supports rendering different sky elements separately. Create additional shader files for clouds, stars, or weather effects. Each pass renders on top of previous layers, allowing complex compositions.
Generate Procedural Clouds
Use noise functions (like Perlin noise implementations) in your fragment shader to create cloud patterns. The template examples may include basic noise functions — study these to understand how to generate organic-looking cloud shapes. Animate clouds by incorporating time into the noise calculation.
Implement Weather Layers
Add rain or snow effects by rendering semi-transparent particles across the sky. Use the depth or position data to vary particle density and movement speed. Combine with your base sky color for a cohesive look.
Blend Effects Smoothly
Use alpha blending and the mix() function to combine clouds, weather, and base sky colors without harsh transitions. Adjust opacity values to ensure clouds don't completely obscure the sky beneath them. Test in different lighting conditions to verify effects remain visible.
