Protect Your First Sapling

Your starting sapling is precious. Do not plant it carelessly where it might be destroyed or lost to the void. Choose a flat, enclosed area on your island where you can safely monitor growth.

Plant and Harvest Carefully

1. Prepare dirt blocks in a dedicated farming area

2. Plant your sapling with space around it for the tree to grow

4. Harvest wood blocks, leaving the sapling intact if possible, or collect saplings that drop from leaves

5. Replant immediately to maintain your supply

Scale Up Gradually

Once you have multiple saplings from your first tree, you can plant additional trees nearby. Keep them spaced apart so they don't interfere with each other's growth. Build a roof or walls around your farm to prevent mobs from destroying saplings and to keep your trees safe from accidents. A reliable wood supply is essential for crafting tools and expanding your base.
