Start with Available Resources

Begin by gathering seeds and crops from your starting area or by breaking grass. You'll need dirt blocks and water to create farmland. Use your cobblestone generator to expand your island enough to dedicate space to farming.

Build Your First Crop Farm

1. Create flat terrain using dirt or farmland blocks

2. Place water channels through or beside your crops (water hydrates farmland up to 4 blocks away)

3. Plant seeds in farmland blocks

5. Replant seeds immediately to maintain continuous production

Diversify Your Food

As you expand, plant multiple crop types for variety and nutrition. Once you have animals (obtained through exploration or breeding), you can establish a meat source as well. Keep your farm organized and protected from mobs. A well-maintained farm prevents starvation and provides materials for breeding animals, which becomes important for long-term survival on your floating island.
