Set Up Your First Base and Secure Respawning
Find a Safe Spawn Location
Your first priority is preventing death by void fall. Locate a flat area on your starting island with enough space for a small base. Clear grass and dirt to create a level building platform away from cliff edges.
Build and Place Your Bed
Craft a bed using wool and planks from your starting resources. Place it inside a simple shelter—even a 3×3 room with a roof will protect you from mobs and weather. Always sleep in your bed before logging out or dying. If you respawn without a valid bed set, you will fall through the sky.
Expand Your Base Safely
Once your bed is secure, build outward gradually. Create a small farm area for crops, a storage room for resources, and a crafting station. Keep your base compact at first—you'll need materials to build bridges to other islands, so don't waste blocks on unnecessary structures.
Mark Your Island
Build a tall pillar or beacon visible from other islands so you can navigate back home. This becomes essential once you start exploring distant biomes.
