Establish a Sustainable Food Supply

Gather Seeds and Start Farming

Break grass blocks on your islands to collect seeds. Plant these seeds on tilled soil to grow wheat. Once you have wheat, you can craft bread for food. Gather seeds from multiple islands to build a diverse crop supply.

Grow Grass Using Bones

If you find bones (from skeletons or other sources), you can use them to grow grass on dirt blocks. This expands your seed sources and gives you more farming options. Bone meal accelerates grass growth, so collect bones whenever possible.

Create Multiple Farms

Build farms on different islands to diversify your food sources. A wheat farm on one island, a vegetable farm on another, and a tree farm elsewhere ensures you're not dependent on a single location. This also spreads your resource gathering across the map.

Store Food Safely

Keep harvested food in chests near your base. Don't carry your entire food supply while exploring—if you fall, you lose everything. Maintain a buffer of at least one stack of bread or cooked meat before venturing to new islands.
