Create a Custom Star Field
Setting Up Your Star Configuration
Sky Aesthetics allows you to define custom stars with individual positions, colors, and brightness. Stars are configured through the mod's configuration files, typically in JSON format within your resource pack or config directory.
Steps to Add Stars
1. Locate your Sky Aesthetics configuration folder (usually in config/skyaesthetics/ or within your resource pack)
2. Open or create a sky configuration file
3. Define star objects with properties like:
- Position: X, Y, Z coordinates in the sky dome
- Color: RGB or hex values for star tint
- Size: Relative scale of the star texture
- Brightness: Glow intensity
4. Save your configuration and reload the world (or use /reload if supported)
5. Look up at night to verify your stars appear in the correct positions
Tips
- Start with a small number of stars and gradually add more
- Use symmetrical patterns for constellations
- Test different colors to match your sky theme
- Stars are typically only visible at night; check your sky's day/night cycle settings
