How to Edit a Skin Preset (Name, Model Type, and Texture)

Finding the Edit Option

Open the Skin Shuffle carousel and rotate to the preset you want to change. Each preset has an edit action — usually a small button or right-click on the preview. Selecting it opens the preset editor where you can change its details without deleting and rebuilding it.

What You Can Change

  • Preset name — rename it so it's easier to spot in the carousel.
  • Model type — switch between classic and slim. This matters: classic uses the wider arm layout, slim uses the thinner one. Picking the wrong one distorts the skin.
  • Texture source — swap the URL, username, UUID, or local file the preset points to.

Steps

1. Open the carousel and select the preset.

2. Click the edit button to open the editor.

3. Adjust the name, model type, and/or texture source fields.

4. Save your changes. The carousel preview refreshes to show the updated skin.

5. Apply the preset if you want the changes live immediately.

Common Fixes

  • If the preview looks stretched, your model type is wrong — flip it between classic and slim.
  • If the texture won't load, re-check the URL or re-select the local file; the old path may have moved.
  • Renaming doesn't affect which skin is applied — it's purely for organization.
