How to Add a Skin Preset Using a URL, Username, UUID, or Local File
Choosing a Skin Source
Skin Shuffle accepts several input types when creating a preset. Open the carousel, then use the add/create option to start a new preset. You'll be asked for a source:
- Texture URL — paste a direct link to a skin PNG (the raw image, not a webpage).
- Minecraft username — type a player's name and the mod fetches their current skin.
- UUID — paste a player's UUID to pull their skin even if the name changed.
- Local file — browse to a PNG saved on your computer.
- In-game texture — use a texture already loaded in the game.
Saving and Naming the Preset
1. Enter the source value in the appropriate field.
2. Give the preset a name so you can find it later in the carousel.
3. Pick the model type: classic (wide arms) or slim (thin arms).
4. Confirm to save. The preset now appears in your carousel and can be applied at any time.
Tips for Reliable Presets
- Use direct image links ending in
.png; gallery or forum pages won't work. - If a username lookup fails, try the UUID instead — names change, UUIDs don't.
- Keep local files in a folder you won't move, or the preset will break.
- You can edit a preset later to fix its name, model type, or source without recreating it.
