How to Enable Automatic Skin Fetching for Offline Servers
Why This Matters
On servers running in offline/insecure mode, players cannot authenticate with Mojang, so their real skins normally do not load. Skin Restorer can automatically fetch and apply a skin whenever a player joins, based on their username. This is configurable, so you decide whether it is on and which source it pulls from.
Configuring the Behavior
Open the mod's config file on the server. Look for the option that controls automatic skin fetching on join. Enable it so that each time a player connects, the mod attempts to resolve their name against Mojang or Ely.by and apply the matching skin. You can choose which source is preferred; if a player has an Ely.by skin, pointing the config at Ely.by lets those resolve, while Mojang handles standard accounts.
Save the config and restart or reload the server so the change takes effect. From then on, players joining in offline mode will receive skins automatically without anyone running commands. If a particular player's skin does not appear, confirm their username matches the account exactly and that the source you selected actually has a skin for that name. Players can still override their skin manually with the set commands afterward.
