How to Apply a Custom Skin from an Image URL

Preparing Your Image

Skin Restorer can pull a skin from any direct image URL, so you are not limited to Mojang or Ely.by accounts. First, host your skin PNG somewhere that returns the raw image file, not a webpage wrapping it. A direct link ending in .png is ideal. Make sure the image follows the standard Minecraft skin layout and that you know whether it uses the classic (Steve) or slim (Alex) model, since the model type affects how arms render.

Running the Command

Use /skin set url <url> [<model>] [<targets>]. Paste your direct image link as the URL. If your skin uses the slim model, specify that as the model argument; otherwise it defaults to classic. Add targets if you want to apply the skin to other players rather than yourself.

After running it, the mod downloads the image and applies it to the target. If the skin does not show up, the most common causes are a URL that points to an HTML page instead of the image, a broken or expired link, or the wrong model type making the arms look distorted. Re-run the command with a corrected URL or model to fix it.
