Adjust Lighting Intensity for Your Playstyle
Access Shader Settings
Open the Shader Options menu while in-game by pressing the designated key (typically found in your controls settings), then locate SimplifyShaderPack Shaders in the active shader list.
Modify Ambient Light Levels
Look for settings related to ambient brightness or global illumination. These controls let you increase or decrease how much light fills shadowed areas. If you prefer darker, moodier caves and nights, reduce ambient values. For brighter indoor spaces and easier navigation, increase them.
Fine-Tune Shadow Darkness
Separate shadow intensity sliders control how dark shadowed regions appear. Lowering shadow darkness makes caves more navigable; raising it creates more dramatic contrast and depth perception.
Test Your Changes
Apply settings and visit different environments—caves, forests at dusk, and indoor structures—to see how lighting feels. Revisit the menu and adjust further if needed. Changes take effect immediately without reloading your world.
Performance Consideration
Higher ambient lighting and softer shadows demand more GPU resources. If your frame rate drops, reduce ambient values slightly or lower shadow quality settings to maintain smooth gameplay on mid-tier hardware.
