How to Use Simple Weather Mod With Shaders and Other Visual Mods

The overlap problem

Shaders and visual mods frequently include their own rain and snow rendering. When one of those is active alongside Simple Weather Mod, you can end up with two weather systems drawn at once — the mod's particles plus the shader's overlay. The result looks heavier and murkier than either alone, which defeats the purpose of installing this mod.

Sorting out the conflict

  • Open your shader pack's settings and look for weather, rain, or precipitation options. Many packs let you disable their built-in rain effect while keeping everything else.
  • If the shader has no such toggle, try switching to a lighter shader profile during storms, or disable shaders entirely while it rains and re-enable them afterward.
  • Check your other visual mods for anything described as improving, replacing, or retexturing weather. Two mods claiming the same job will conflict.
  • Change one thing at a time and observe a storm after each change. Because weather is intermittent, it is easy to misattribute a difference.
  • Once you find a combination you like, note it down. Shader and mod updates can silently reset or reintroduce weather effects, and you will want to know what your working setup was.
  • If you cannot resolve the overlap, prioritize the mod you care about more. This mod is purely aesthetic, so it is often the easier one to drop.
