Fixing Voice Chat When Nobody Can Hear You

Check the Obvious First

Press V and confirm you are not muted and that voice chat itself is enabled (there is a toggle to disable it entirely). Check the mic icon indicator while you speak. If it never lights up, the game is not receiving audio from your microphone at all, which points to a device or permission problem rather than a server problem.

Audio Device and Permissions

Open your operating system's sound settings and confirm the correct microphone is set as the default input. On some systems the game grabs a different device than you expect. Also confirm the game has microphone permission granted at the OS level. If you recently plugged in a headset, restart the game so it re-detects devices.

Server-Side Causes

If your mic indicator lights up but others still cannot hear you, the issue may be server-side. Voice chat needs its own network port open on the server, separate from the normal Minecraft port. On a hosted panel, check that the voice chat port is allocated and reachable. If the server runs behind a proxy or firewall, that port must be allowed through.

Client Mod Presence

Every player who wants to hear or speak needs the voice chat mod installed on their client. A player without it simply cannot participate, no matter what the server does.
