Understand How Jukeboxes Interact with Background Music

Jukebox and Background Music Behavior

When you use a jukebox to play music, the mod automatically manages background music to avoid conflicts.

What Happens When a Jukebox Plays

1. Insert a music disc into a jukebox as you normally would

2. The jukebox begins playing its track

3. The background music automatically pauses to prevent overlapping sounds

4. The Now Playing widget updates to reflect the jukebox track

5. When the jukebox finishes or you stop it, background music resumes playing

Why This Matters

This automatic pause prevents:

  • Two music tracks playing simultaneously (which sounds chaotic)
  • Loss of immersion when switching between jukebox and background music
  • Confusion about which track is actually playing

Normal Background Music Behavior

Outside of jukebox use, the mod reduces the delay between background tracks, so you experience more consistent music coverage. The reduced gap means less silence and a more continuous soundtrack throughout your gameplay session.
